Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) in cooperation with Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) will organized Expo Inovasi Islam 2011 (i-Inova'11) on 14-16th October 2011.

The expo aims to enable the students of higher learning institutions to exhibit their innovation in creating Islamic products. Through this program, it is hoped that the students are able to discover their potential by applying the knowledge and skills that they learn at the university level, for the development of ummah.

The competition is open to 2 categories:

1.    Undergraduate category

Open to all students of higher learning institutions that offer tertiary education (university, university college, college, polytechnic and others).

2.    Open category

Open to all lecturers and researchers from higher learning institutions and research institutes.

On 8th February student of ASRM USIM have invited En Muhammad Faiz from Bursa Malaysia. He is being invited to give a speech entitled "Shariah Issue in Actuarial Science and Risk Management". The objective of this presentation is to expose students to the Shariah issue of Actuarial Science and Risk Management. Therefore students are expected to do a better research proposal for this semester.

Assalamu’alaikumualaikum
warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

In the name of ALLAH, the Most Gracious and the Most Merciful. Alhamdulillah, my prayers go to our beloved Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. May Allah grant peace and blessings to him and his family.

I would like to grab this opportunity to address participates of the third Acturial Science and Risk Management Seminar (ASRiM). ASRiM’11 come again with the theme ‘Actuarial Science and Risk Management Aspects in Investment World’ is a tremendous effort in bringing all the related parties into investment bussiness and risk management insight in actuarial field as our guidance in industrial world.

Our objective is to share and also can be the process of education to the public regarding the investment aspects in actuarial science and the introduction of an investment actuary profession since both is undoubtly related. This one day event will also highlight the potential of Actuarial and Risk Management industry in Malaysia and share the aspect of risk management that merge into actuarial world.

To conclude I would like to thank all organizing committees of ASRIM’11 for giving out full effort and making this third annual program into a succesful one day event.  On behalf of the committees, I would like to express our heartiest gratitude and thanks to everyone who has been directly or indirectly involved in making Acturial Science and Risk Management Seminar 2011 a meaningful success.
